In an interview to Bollywood Bubble, Amitabh Bachchan gave credit to late actor Shashi Kapoor for playing an important role in his career. 81-year-old Big B revealed that Shashi Kapoor was working in James Ivory – Ismail Merchant Production’s film Bombay Talkie. A funeral scene was to be shot in this film in which a crowd was needed. Amitabh Bachchan was also cast in this scene. As soon as Shashi Kapoor saw Amitabh in the crowd scene, he was not happy and asked him to leave from there. On this, Amitabh told Shashi Kapoor that he had got fifty rupees for this scene. Hearing this, Shashi Kapoor told Amitabh Bachchan not to do these small roles because he is made for better things.
But it is said that Amitabh needed money and work at that time, so he ignored Shashi Kapoor’s advice and he shot that scene and went home with the money. Later, when the late actor saw Amitabh in that scene, he asked the director to remove those parts of Big B from the film.
